RCE Ogun as part of her activities for the 3rd quarter of 2019 and in line with her objective of creating Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Ogun State through formal, informal, and non-formal training, enlightenment programmes and exemplar projects for the sustainable existence of Ogun State, partnered with the Hebron Startup Lab of Covenant University for a Four-day Training tagged “Digital Skills for Sustainable Wealth Creation” which held from 30th September to 3rd October, 2019.
The opening program took place on Monday the 30th of September 2019 at the Covenant University Centre for Research Innovation and Discovery (CUCRID) and had in attendance the Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor AAA. Atayero, the Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege represented by the Onikotun of Ota, Oba Abdulhakeem Kolawole, Dr. Babajide Abiola who represented the Chair RCE Ogun, Prof. Evans Osabuohien. Others at the opening ceremony were the director of CUCRID, members of RCE Ogun and 40 participants who are mostly youth from Ogun State.

The courses taught within the first two days were used to open up the minds of the participant on how sustainable wealth can be created using digital skills and the relevance of having the right mindset to achieve set objectives. The courses entailed Self Discovery, Venture Creation, Google Digital Tools for Business (Google Heptics Team), Product Development, Marketing, Pitching & Selling (MAPS), Entrepreneurial Mindset, Leadership and Team Building. The last two day were hands-on sessions where the participants learnt how to create a business website using WordPress and Graphics Design training.
Having gone through the four-day training and shown proficiency in digital marketing, the participants were awarded a certificate of completion at the closing ceremony that held on Thursday, 3rd of October 2019.
Speaking at the event was the Chair of RCE Ogun, Prof. Evans Osabuohien who restated the commitment of RCE Ogun to vibrant community engagement, thanked the key industrial partner, Zenith Bank PLC (represented by Mr. Benjamin Oladisun) for sponsoring the training and encouraged the participants to put to good use the knowledge learnt at the training.
